Worked example · fictional data

A controller turns a question into a recurring analysis.

The controller asks where margins differ and adds their knowledge of revenue and costs. AI investigates the sources. A useful analysis can then become part of monthly reporting.

This example illustrates a possible implementation. It does not describe a delivered client project or measured result.

The workflow in detail

How the work happens today
Figures are exported from several applications and reconciled in spreadsheets. Each follow-up question requires another round of gathering and validating data.
What the software executes
The workflow retrieves data at an agreed point and checks completeness and reconciliation. Conventional software calculates totals. An agent investigates notable differences through underlying orders or transactions and writes commentary with source references. The report then follows the agreed review and publication steps.
What the employee does
The controller asks why margins are falling for a customer group. They explain which one-off costs should be considered separately. The agent system examines transactions and orders and shows its sources. The controller schedules the same analysis monthly without writing a query or integration.
Limits and recovery
Missing source records block publication rather than being treated as zero. An agent must not present an unsupported explanation as fact. Your team reviews interpretations and remains responsible for financial and commercial decisions.
What Silvant builds
Silvant builds source integrations, fixed calculations, definition checks and the review and publication process. The controller can investigate their own questions and set up recurring analyses using those data and calculation rules.
  1. 01

    Ask a question

The controller describes the discrepancy and relevant financial rules.

  2. 02

    Investigate the data

Fixed software calculates; agents look for explanations in underlying records.

  3. 03

    Review the evidence

The controller checks sources and conclusions before the report is shared.

  4. 04

    Reuse the analysis

The controller adds the analysis to periodic reporting.
